Dear Partners,
As we head into the Fourth of July weekend, lets step up our efforts to secure high quality, affordable heath care for those who've served our country.

Veterans and essential workers have languished for far too long in the coverage gap, going without needed care themselves and worrying about the health and safety of their loved ones. We need to have their backs by pushing Congress to make their care affordable.
While the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) was a good first step toward bringing down the high cost of health coverage premiums, we can and must do more.
This Fourth of July, health advocates across the country are joining with veterans and essential workers to build on the movement to close the coverage gap and increase access to affordable care. Tell your members of Congress to:
- Make the ARPA's increased tax credits for people buying their own insurance permanent;
- Lower the cost of prescription drugs;
- Lower out of pocket costs like deductibles and copays; and
- Make affordable health coverage accessible to people in the 12 states that have not expanded Medicaid.
Write to or call your members of Congress today to urge them to make health care affordability a priority. And check out our new graphics focused on the needs of veterans and essential workers.

As Congress moves closer to advancing the next reconciliation bill over the coming weeks and months, they need to know that their constituents want affordability to be part of the deal. It's time to fight for those who have made our survival possible. Let’s secure the health care coverage our veterans and essential workers need and deserve.
In Solidarity,
Jessie Zimmerer, Campaign Manager
