Director, State Consumer Health Advocacy Program and Technical Assistance/Best Practices

Reena Singh is the Director of Community Catalyst's State Consumer Health Advocacy Program and Director of Technical Assistance/Best Practices. She oversees our technical assistance services to state and local organizations and identifies new and emerging strategies for our coaching and support, while maintaining a commitment to Community Catalyst’s unique approach to capacity building.

Reena and the SCHAP team work to elevate the consumer voice in policy discussions using Community Catalyst’s System of Advocacy through coaching and fostering robust learning communities. She is also Deputy Director of Consumer Voices for Coverage – joint initiative of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Community Catalyst to strengthen the consumer voice to promote innovative and comprehensive health care coverage for everyone.

Reena started at Community Catalyst as a Field Coordinator in 2007. Prior to joining Community Catalyst, Reena served as the Director of Advocacy at the MergerWatch Project, where she worked with national and state coalitions to protect patients' rights and access to care from the threat of religiously-based health care restrictions. Previously she was the Legislative Liaison for the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. Reena was selected to participate in Boston University’s Institute for Nonprofit Management & Leadership Program and the National Women's Law Center's Progressive Leadership and Advocacy Network. She received her BA from Skidmore College and her master's degree in public policy and administration from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs where she received the Harvey Picker Prize for Public Service.

Community Catalyst works to ensure consumer interests are represented wherever important decisions about health and the health system are made: in communities, courtrooms, statehouses and on Capitol Hill.
