Phillip O. González

Program Director

As Program Director, Phillip oversees the Hospital Accountability Project at Community Catalyst. In that role he helps develop and execute strategies focused on a range of issues related to hospital community benefit activities. Key project activities include the provision of technical assistance to enable greater engagement among communities and hospitals, the development of policies and practices that ensure community benefit approaches are responsive to and inclusive of communities, fostering efforts to ensure hospitals address the social and economic determinants that influence the community’s health and managing collaborations with national partner organizations and associations.

Phillip previously oversaw the Roadmaps to Health Community Grants program, which supported local partnerships of policymakers, business, education, health care, and community organizations working to create positive policy change to address the social and economic factors that impact the health of people in their community.

Before joining Community Catalyst, Phillip served as Director of Grantmaking for the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation. He holds a master's degree in public policy from the University of Massachusetts-Boston, and a bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont.

Community Catalyst works to ensure consumer interests are represented wherever important decisions about health and the health system are made: in communities, courtrooms, statehouses and on Capitol Hill.
