Meredith Munn Wheeler

Senior State Advocacy Manager, Close the Gap

As a Senior State Advocacy Manager for the Close the Gap project at Community Catalyst, Meredith Munn Wheeler works closely with the state advocacy groups working to close the Medicaid coverage gap and bring health coverage to millions of low-income uninsured adults. Meredith coordinates Community Catalyst’s technical assistance on this issue, and provides strategic guidance and policy support to advocates in coverage gap states.

Prior to working at Community Catalyst, Meredith was a Project Coordinator at Boston University’s Center for Addictions Research and Services.  Meredith also has a background in advocacy, previously working with MassEquality’s field organizing team and with Pacific Pride Foundation in Santa Barbara, California to build community coalitions focused on a broad range of issues impacting diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender populations. Meredith holds a bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College and a Master of Social Work from the Boston University School of Social Work.

Community Catalyst works to ensure consumer interests are represented wherever important decisions about health and the health system are made: in communities, courtrooms, statehouses and on Capitol Hill.
