Marla Shatkin

Director, Human Resources

Marla Shatkin brings more than 30 years of human resources leadership to Community Catalyst, with particular expertise in the areas of benefits and compensation, management and human resources strategy, policy development, and employee/labor relations. 

Marla has worked primarily in the non-profit sector throughout her career, focusing on health care and higher education. She previously served as the director of Labor and Employee Relations at Harvard Pilgrim/Harvard Vanguard, as the Human Resources director at Brigham & Women's Physicians Organization, the director of Labor and Employee Relations at UMass Memorial Medical Care, and as an HR Director at Harvard University for 15 years. 

Most recently, Marla was the head of human resources and administration for the US division of a medical device company, Oridion Capnography, Inc., based in Israel. In this capacity, she supported US Commercial Operations (operating out of Needham, MA), providing human resources support for approximately 60 US employees working remotely throughout the US.

Community Catalyst works to ensure consumer interests are represented wherever important decisions about health and the health system are made: in communities, courtrooms, statehouses and on Capitol Hill.
