Jessie Zimmerer

State Advocacy Manager, Center for Consumer Engagement in Health Innovation

Jessie serves as a state advocacy manager for the Center for Consumer Engagement in Health Innovation, working closely with consumer health advocates to advance state health care access and innovation goals from the local and state level. Jessie provides technical assistance, campaign strategies, and capacity building tools to facilitate broader access to care and coverage, and build stronger, healthier communities.

Prior to joining Community Catalyst, Jessie’s work focused primarily on issues that specifically and disproportionately impact women and girls, including sexual and domestic violence and reproductive health rights. As a former legislative director in the Massachusetts Senate, she was a leader in statewide efforts to reform the broken criminal justice system, establish basic civil rights protections for LGBTQ people, and ensure equitable access to industry for women and people of color. She earned her Master’s in Public Policy and Women’s/Gender Studies from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University.

Community Catalyst works to ensure consumer interests are represented wherever important decisions about health and the health system are made: in communities, courtrooms, statehouses and on Capitol Hill.
