Alexandra Marie Abreu Boria

Program and Policy Coordinator, Consumer and Community Engagement Program

Alexa joined Community Catalyst in August 2019 as the program and policy coordinator for the Consumer and Community Engagement program. In her role, she will help support grassroots advocacy that can influence policy changes to meet the needs of low-income and underrepresented communities of color.

She joins CC with a background in immigration, policy, community organizing, and public health, and has been involved in international development efforts by working on a research project with USAID in the Middle East. Born and raised in Puerto Rico, she is passionate about giving back to marginalized communities, advocating for human rights and dismantling systems of oppression.

Alexa holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Latin American and Caribbean Studies from the State University of New York at New Paltz and a Masters of Social Work in International Welfare and Social Policy from Columbia University School of Social Work.
