THE POSITION

Our Program on Substance Use Disorders and Justice-Involved Populations builds broad-based consumer advocacy to change local, state and national policies and practices. We catalyze action to boost prevention of drug and alcohol addiction, promote diversion from arrest, and expand insurance coverage and access to high-quality care.  Our goal is to help people lead healthier lives by improving health services and community supports that address problematic use of drugs and alcohol, and by increasing access to those services.

The Associate Director is a newly created position to help the Director oversee and implement the goals and activities of the growing program, including cutting-edge health advocacy campaigns to change public policy and sophisticated technical assistanceto support service innovation. The Associate Director will provide leadership, focused on internal operations, and will help to shape the program’s future direction. The individual will also partner with the Director to represent the program and collaborate with other projects and teams across the organization, and externally.  This is not a clinical position.

The Associate Director will also support the program staff to provide excellent, tailored technical assistance to state and local partners across the country that builds stronger advocacy and innovative programs to address substance use disorders.  The individual will also coach some of these partners directly on policy analysis, advocacy strategies and organizational development.

The successful candidate will be a versatile leader and team player with proven strength in management, administration, collaboration and communication. The candidate will join a program that is an organizational leader on issues of racial equity.

SUPERVISION

The Associate Director will be supervised by the Program Director for Substance Use Disorders and Justice-Involved Populations.

Community Catalyst is based in Boston, MA, with additional offices in Pittsburgh, PA; Atlanta, GA; Washington DC; St. Louis, MO; Lansing, MI; and New York City. We expect the Associate Director to be based in our Boston office.
