New England Alliance for Children's Health

The New England Alliance for Children's Health (NEACH), an initiative of Community Catalyst begun in 2006, is a regional partnership of hospitals, advocates, health care providers, business leaders, interfaith organizations, and consumers who work to ensure that all children in New England have access to the highest quality health care.

NEACH weaves together an innovative model for expanding children's public and private health care coverage through proactive policy development, information sharing and public outreach at both the federal and state levels.  NEACH focuses on four priority areas:

  1. Federal: Ensuring that children's health care issues are actively addressed in national health reform and that Medicaid and CHIP are protected and enhanced.
  2. State: Providing policy, communications and strategic support for each of the New England states as they work to protect and enhance health care coverage for their children.
  3. Quality: Developing a regional quality of care campaign that engages consumers and highlights the need for federal and state quality improvement efforts to include pediatric care.
  4. Coalition-building: Engaging a variety of partners (for example, organizations for children with special health care needs, the business and faith communities) in our children's health care advocacy work in order to more effectively influence public policy and build sustained support for children's health care issues and funding.

NEACH is made possible through the generous support of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Corporation, Children's Hospital Boston, Connecticut Health Foundation, The Jessie B. Cox Charitable Trust, Endowment for Health, The David and Lucille Packard Foundation, First Focus, and the Massachusetts Medical Society.
