Community Catalyst is a national nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to achieving quality, affordable health care for all. You can get involved in our work by telling us your story or by sharing your thoughts about nonprofit hospitals’ obligations in their communities.

Tell Your Story:
Have you faced problems getting health care services? Do you have medical bills you can’t afford to pay? Have you avoided getting medical treatment because of the cost? Or, have you had a positive experience in receiving free care from a hospital? Stories like these help us explain to reporters and policymakers the problems faced by uninsured and underinsured patients and the potential solutions.

Voice Your Concerns:
Let us know how you feel about nonprofit hospitals’ obligations to provide charity care and other important community benefits.  In return for tax exemptions, should they provide care to the community?  Who should determine what will best serve the community?  Should there be regulations that nonprofit hospitals must meet?
