Joia Crear-Perry, MD

Joia Crear-Perry, M.D. is a public health expert living in New Orleans, Louisiana. Her recognitions and honors include the Congressional Black Caucus Health Braintrust Award in 2006, the Tulane Xavier Center for Excellence in Women's Health Award, the Isadore Dyer, M.D. Award for Teaching Excellence, and an appointment as a National Institutes of Health Student Fellow. She chaired the Workforce Healthcare Recruitment Subcommittee of the U.S Department of Health and Human Services Healthcare Redesign Collaborative during Secretary Michael Leavitt's term. She has served as the director of clinical services for the City of New Orleans Health Department and on the executive committee of the Coalition of Leaders in Louisiana Healthcare and the New Orleans Medical Association.
